Late in the Winter term, several students from Kelli Wood's class (HISTART 194: Video Games - Cultures in Play) presented their final projects in the Duderstadt Gallery, in an exhibition entitled, "Are Video Games Art?" The exhibition included several meaningful presentations, and highlighted some of the game systems in the CVGA. We wanted to share some pictures from the event with you.

The CVGA has now been serving students, faculty, staff and the public for over eight years. From its founding to today, the CVGA has attracted press attention for its unique service. In honor of U-M’s 200th anniversary, we’d like to highlight the CVGA’s growth through a sampling of press articles as well as memories from our own blog.

Now that 2016 has passed, it can be interesting to look back at which games were most popular over the course of the year.

If you’re familiar with the video gaming community you may know that Final Fantasy XV came out yesterday, 10 years after the announcement was first made. What you may not know is that we here at the CVGA have many of the original games in the series.

Have you noticed more people than usual walking around town while looking at their phones? This is thanks to last week’s U.S. release of Pokémon Go. Pokémon Go is currently the most-popular augmented reality (AR) game available on Apple and Android mobile devices, and it’s getting people to go outside and get active.

We have several new games in the CVGA (and yes, Overwatch is among them).
Since we got several new dance games, we thought we'd highlight them here for your viewing pleasure. If you haven't gotten a chance to try out a dance game, now you have four additional choices to choose from and get started!

We now have several new Atari 7800 games available! They all come with boxes in near mint condition which feature the box art of the era, so we thought we'd share a few examples with you. Enjoy!
