As the new semester begins, we are delighted to welcome Muyu Lin (林沐雨), the newest member of the Asia Library staff! Muyu joined us as the Asia Library Services Coordinator, and her first day was Tuesday, September 8, 2026.

Following the successful pilot of the Asia Library Third Thursday open house series in Fall 2025, we continued the program in Winter 2026. Once again, the series was enthusiastically received, welcoming many visitors to explore the Asia Library’s collections, engage with colleagues, and learn more about the histories and cultures represented in our collections.

The Asia Library hosted three Third Thursday open houses in Fall 2025, showcasing visually and intellectually inspiring, and even somewhat whimsical, materials on East Asia.

CHOP (China Ongoing Perspective) film series to present a film screening and discussion on documentary film "Made in Ethiopia."

Welcome Yung-hui Chou, our new Chinese Studies Librarian.

The Asia Library would like to welcome three new interns, Hao Zhang, Suparna Hande, and Jisu Han. Each of them works on one of the three main subject areas of the Asia Library (Chinese studies, Japanese studies, and Korean studies).

CHOP (China Ongoing Perspectives) Film Series presents a mini-film festival showcasing documentaries about China through the lens of European and Chinese directors.

Our next Deep Dive into Digital and Data Methods for Chinese Studies will take place in Friday, March 12, 2021, from 11 am to noon. The presenter will be Haihui Zhang, Head of the East Asian Library an Chinese Studies Librarian at the University of Pittsburgh.
