As the new semester begins, we are delighted to welcome Muyu Lin (林沐雨), the newest member of the Asia Library staff! Muyu joined us as the Asia Library Services Coordinator, and her first day was Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
A recent graduate of our own School of Information (Go Blue!), Muyu holds a Master of Science in Information and specializes in data analytics and information management. Before beginning her graduate studies, she earned a BA in English Literature from Beijing Foreign Studies University and spent a semester as an exchange student at Hong Kong Baptist University.
Muyu is passionate about cultural programming and making collections approachable to diverse audiences. Her experience includes coordinating an international forum involving multiple institutional partners; leading a graduate data-analysis project that translated service data into operational recommendations; and developing accessible reading and art activities for primary school students.
In her new role, Muyu will bring her talents and enthusiasm to coordinating the Asia Library’s programs and events while carrying out responsibilities and supporting projects in collection, public, and technical services. Muyu is excited to join us and looks forward to getting to know her new colleagues, exploring the Asia Library, and becoming part of U-M’s vibrant East Asian studies community.
In her free time, Muyu enjoys reading and drawing. She is interested in stories and storytelling across a variety of media, from novels and television shows to exhibitions and games. Having lived in Ann Arbor throughout her graduate studies, she already knows the city as a resident and looks forward to continuing to explore its beauty and whimsy through her artistic and creative lens.
