Pronoun Pin Day

The Library Student Ambassadors hosted Pronoun Pin Day earlier this month in the Shapiro Lobby on Friday, October 10th, otherwise known as National Coming Out Day! We had a busy table, with visitors selecting from a wide range of pin designs to share their pronouns or cute pictures on pins that they got to manufacture step by step.

Chatting with everyone throughout the afternoon was so fun, and seeing which designs people gravitated to was my favorite litmus test to guess their character before we even got to know each other. I had some students come to the table and, after sifting through our design options for a bit, pull out a sheet of paper with pin designs I had never seen before....and now desperately wanted to make a pin of, too!

The process to put together a custom pin is so simple, it gives you a lot of time to chat and make pins together, and if you get a chance to stop by another hands-on Shapiro event, you might be able to make some more pins!
