Library Info Tabling

On Monday, September 15 and Friday, September 19, the Library Ambassadors held Info Tabling sessions for all students to learn more about the services the library has to offer. These sessions early in the semester allowed us to personally welcome students and ensure they know how to access essential resources as they are getting started on their first assignments.

In the Shapiro lobby, new and returning students dropped by to get their questions answered and pick up some free swag. Furthermore, students could also participate in our trivia game, which was launched on the same day. In this online challenge, students who answered all trivia questions would be eligible to be entered into a raffle for a collection of prizes, and those who answered all correctly would get another chance to win.

As a library Student Ambassador, I staffed the event on both days and helped with setup. The Shapiro lobby was as busy as ever with people on their way to study or grab a coffee. We got to help students with the inquiries they had, and getting to see what students would like to know about the library was very helpful to me. I was happy to be able to connect with so many students and contribute directly to the welcoming atmosphere of the library.

Overall, Info Tabling was a great way to get students introduced to all of the features of the library and how it is here to help them as they settle into the school year. It was a fantastic reminder that the library is not just a building full of books, but a resource hub ready to support every student’s academic journey. We hope to see many of these students return, whether it is to use library services or to attend one of our events.
