The Asia Library would like to welcome three new interns, Hao Zhang, Suparna Hande, and Jisu Han. Each of them works on one of the three main subject areas of the Asia Library (Chinese studies, Japanese studies, and Korean studies).

A new section at 3A Hatcher North houses Korean language learning materials

Dr. Mary M. Cutler, one of the early shaper's of Seoul's Ewha University, graduated from the U-M Medical School.

Thanks to a generous program of the Korea Foundation, Asia Library is able to welcome a full-time intern from Korea to its staff every year. These bright, motivated young people learn many facets of library work while here, making this a win-win situation for both parties.

Asia Library has had a wonderful year already: on January 3 we received a donation of some 200 Kodachrome slides from Margaret Condon Taylor (Ph.D. psychology, 1983).

Asia Library will hold a Korean Data Services Workshop in November.
