Extensive Reading in Korean and Chinese, Too!

One happy consequence of the opening of the Oka Tadoku Room in fall 2022 was the increased interest that emerged for extensive reading materials in Chinese and Korean as well. There are sections for those books alongside the Japanese materials in the Oka Tadoku Room that are being used by Chinese and Korean language classes. Now, increased demand for the Korean-language materials has led to the establishment of an additional space to house them, on level 3A of the Hatcher Graduate Library, just one floor below the Oka Tadoku Room.

The majority of the books on level 3A have been organized according to reading levels (from Level 1 to Level 5), and a selection of oversize books and about 80 books without a designated reading level can be found on the far right side of the bookshelf there. Korean Studies Librarian Yunah Sung has created a guide to all of the Korean Language Learning Collection resources, which include ebooks as well. Happy Reading!
