Please join us on Wednesday, December 13th from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm at the Ann Arbor District Library (Westgate Branch - West Side Room) for Lights, Camera, Austen: The screen adaptations of Jane Austen. In this lecture, Anne Charlotte Mecklenburg, a PhD student in the University of Michigan's English Department, will discuss film adaptations of Jane Austen's works, from the classic Greer Garson/Laurence Olivier Pride and Prejudice (1940) to Pride and Prejudice and Zombies (2016). Come learn more about the history and context of Jane Austen's novels on film (and enjoy some movie clips!)
This event is in collaboration with the University of Michigan Library's exhibit The Life and Times of Lizzy Bennet. Curators Juli McLoone and Sigrid Cordell will be hosting a tour of this exhibit on Friday, December 15th at noon in the Audubon Room. Sign up here and bring a friend.
