Labor-related materials from the Joseph A. Labadie Collection

The Joseph A. Labadie Collection holds many primary source materials documenting the history of labor and other social movements. Often ephemeral and/or hard-to-find, the personal stories and grassroots materials illustrate the sometimes sobering and often triumphant actions undertaken by individuals whose singular voices may go unnoticed but whose collective roar is heard throughout history. The Labadie Collection's curator, Julie Herrada, endeavors to record the farm laborers' history of their struggles and successes to provide a lens into a group whose presence in the academy affords them historical relevance.
