Pronoun Pin Day

Happy (belated) Pronoun Pin Day! October 16th is International Pronouns day and the University of Michigan celebrates by giving away pronoun pins. Both this year and in 2022, the Student Library Ambassadors joined in by creating some of our own pin designs. Our goal was to offer up as many designs as we could so you could proudly display what you would like to be called.

I, Amira Said, personally really enjoyed the chance to talk to everyone walking by! It’s always a highlight of my day to pull people into whatever we’re doing, and this time I particularly enjoyed watching people slowly figure out what pins they wanted to make/grab. It’s a quick chance for a burst of creativity that students don’t often get in classes.

I, Cecilia Ledezma, enjoyed helping others browse through our pre-made designs and comic collections and see what they came up with. It was fun helping make some customs designs of my own, mashing together some of the printed pronoun pin designs through collage. It’s always great to see what students come up with during our events!

It’s worth noting that along with pronoun pins, we also opened up the button making machine to any designs one's heart may desire. And, on top of that, we gave away free bookmarks, candy, posters, library stickers, sticky notes, and more. No fear if you missed out! Just meet us at our next event on November 15th at Sip n’ Paint.
