On Friday, September 29th, the Library Ambassadors hosted our annual Postcard event outside of the Shapiro Library, and it was a great success! We had an abundance of postcards (with Diag squirrels on them) available for students to write to friends or family back home, whether that be domestically or internationally! Students seemed thrilled to have the opportunity to write postcards for free, and many were able to stop by and write to loved ones far away.
For this event, the ambassadors took on all kinds of tasks, from setting up materials, explaining postcard formatting, and answering questions from fellow students. We also served snacks and offered library merch, including stickers, pens, post-it notes, and posters! We were happy to help students enjoy hot chocolate, snacks, and swag after a long week of classes. Overall, it seemed to be a very popular event, and everything we offered was well received. There was something for everyone at this event, which is most definitely why it’s always a success.
