Halloween at Hatcher

On October 15th, we (student library ambassadors) hosted a Halloween at Hatcher event in the Hatcher Gallery, during which students were invited to grab a snack, make some Halloween crafts, and take our Haunted Hatcher tour.

We featured crafts like Halloween-themed origami, pumpkin decorating, and button-making. We also held a game where students guessed how many pieces of candy were in a jar, and whoever had the most accurate guess received the jar of candy. Additionally, there was a photo booth where attendees got their pictures taken in front of a spooky backdrop and printed into stickers. Furthermore, there was still plenty of space for students to use for studying with spooky music in the background.

Many of our library ambassadors assisted with crafts or the tour.

I (Grace) made pins with our button machine, which was a delight as always. I especially enjoyed getting to see the custom designs that students made for their pins.

I (Alyssa) was helping out at check-in, where students could take some library swag and play our ongoing library trivia.

It was so cool to talk to current and prospective students alike and to watch how excited participants were to learn about Hatcher’s strange history and hidden spots.
