Three Films by Chinese Director Wu Hao, with Panel Discussions

The CHOP (China Ongoing Perspectives) film series, a collaboration between the Lieberthal-Rogel Center for Chinese Studies and Asia Library, will spotlight the work of Emmy-winning director Wu Hao 吴皓 with a virtual film festival on October 6-8. The films to be discussed are The People's Republic of Desire, All in My Family, and 76 Days.

Wu Hao's recent films provide a critical examination of contemporary Chinese culture by taking on topics such as  China’s online universe, LGBTQ parenting, and the pandemic in Wuhan. Director Wu and U-M faculty and guest discussants will participate in post-screening Q&A sessions after each of the three films.
