The next Zoom film showing in the CHOP (China Ongoing Perspectives) series, Please Remember Me, will be held on Wednesday, December 2, at 7 PM. Please note that, due to licensing restrictions, only registered attendees affiliated with the University of Michigan will be able to join the viewing. In this moving documentary, the director Qing Zhao follows her great uncle and great aunt over three years as they face the challenges of aging and the onset of Alzheimer’s. The couple’s resilience shines through as they manage daily life and living alone without the traditional support of an extended family. Following the 1 hour 18 minute film, in Chinese with English subtitles, Professor Lydia Li of the School of Social Work will lead a live discussion of it, also via Zoom. We hope to see you there.
The CHOP film series is co-sponsored by the Lieberthal Rogel Center for Chinese Studies and the University of Michigan Library's Asia Library.
