As part of Black History Month this year, check out some of the Library's streaming access to films by Black directors. This spreadsheet provides a list of films you can stream through the U-M Library collections as a current student, faculty or staff member.
The list includes Hollywood and award winning films like Moonlight, Waiting to Exhale, and Twelve Years a Slave, but also includes a lot of lesser known titles and independent films. These include Cheryl Dunye's New Queer Cinema film The Watermelon Woman, pioneering Black Filmmaker Oscar Micheaux's Within Our Gates, and Bill Gunn's 1973 experimental horror film Ganja & Hess.
