For years, I have been known to pick up a sewing machine when I have an idea for a quick upcycling of clothing. As a lifelong Patriots fan, once I found out we were going to the Super Bowl, I knew I wanted to create my own merchandise for the big game. This was in part because I don't think most premade things are my style, and living in Michigan means that it is not readily accessible to me at stores! I used clothing and scrap fabric I was able to find at home, which meant that this was truly a no-cost project. After taking off the sweatshirt's original decals using a seam ripper, I projected the logo I wanted onto my fabric and then traced and cut it out. Finally, when I got to the design lab, I was able to find the right color thread within the supplies, and went to work sewing. This project took me about 2 hours, in part because I had to troubleshoot a few things I didn't know how to do on the specific machine, but I got it done and I am so happy with how it turned out! The design lab was great, very well kept and with tons of materials for me to use! The staff was also very friendly.
The bare sweatshirt with the pattern all laid out - before sewing it on.
