For the third year in a row, the Shapiro Design Lab and the Library Student Engagement Ambassadors hosted a Valentine’s Day event with the Design Lab’s printing press. Students and staff from across the campus came to Shapiro Undergraduate Library the day before Valentine’s Day to make cards for their loved ones and drink hot chocolate. Kelly, the Design Lab’s printing press expert, aided participants in designing and printing their dream Valentine. The student ambassadors assisted in cleaning supplies and line management. The event had a steady stream of curious, creative Wolverines that brought their artistic ideas to fruition with the resources provided by the design lab. The ambassadors also provided the opportunity to make Valentines for patients at the University of Michigan Hospital, which were distributed to patients on Valentine’s day. Some of the best moments of the event are captured below, including a Valentine which says “You are my heart” in Serbian and a beautiful piece showcased by one of our own library engagement ambassadors, Shashank Rao.
