3D Printed Controller Stands

Before visiting the Shapiro Design Lab, I had never used a 3d printer. I recently learned about this resource and was excited to try it out. For my first foray into 3d printing, I printed stands for several Nintendo Switch video game controllers, using .stl files from printables.com, as suggested by the Design Lab volunteers. The volunteers were incredibly helpful and eager to answer my questions.

My prints came out wonderfully, my controllers fit perfectly, and now my apartment is slightly more organized. I look forward to visiting the Design Lab again next semester!

Two black 3D printed rectangular stands on a wooden table. The stands are perpendicular to each other, and one has a tall pillar in the back third, with two rectangular holes in the front two-thirds to hold the controllers. The other stand has two smaller lifts on the left and the right sides of the stand, for the gamecube controller to stand in.

Two 3-D printed black controller stands on a wooden table - the picture is taken at an angle, so the sides of the stands/controllers are visible. On the left most stand, there are Nintendo Switch controllers placed in the stand, and on the right-most stand is a gamecube controller, standing up.

The final stands, and their respective controllers.
