This summer, I got to use the Shapiro Design Lab’s 3D printers for my physics research. I printed custom PLA bobbins for a Helmholtz coil system I built to study magnetic anisotropy in complex materials. Being able to prototype, tweak, and reprint parts at the Design Lab saved me weeks of work and made it easy to quickly test new coil designs.
