Delivering exciting upgrades to digital collections through Project DOR
In July 2024, Library Information Technology launched Project DOR (Digital Object Repository), a multi-year project dedicated to the development of a new repository. The new repository will be used for digital collections to replace the existing digital collections platform. Project DOR will provide a brand new tailored solution for packaging, ingest, storage, and access to digital collections.

MHydra Prototype: A Team Approach to the World of Hydra
The open source software Hydra is, by its name and nature, modular and complex. Using this technology gives the University of Michigan the opportunity to participate in the development of an increasingly-adopted suite of tools with the flexibility to accommodate a host of needs and engage in the spirit and philosophy of open source software development. With open source, we must concern ourselves not just with our own institution’s needs and priorities, but those of a broader community.

DLPS is currently (July 2010) exploring possible avenues for the future development of DLXS. I compiled this brief survey of existing digital library software systems to gain a better understanding of where DLXS fits in the current landscape, and what other systems have to offer.
